Last week I wanted so badly to sit down at the computer and write my weekly post but I just didn't have it in me. Little did I know just how hard last week was going to be. Sadie, my sweet Sadie. She is at the stage of testing me at every turn. It seems that I am spending more time disciplining, correcting, teaching and training instead of just loving and playing with my kiddos. It leaves me tired and spent each and everyday. I found myself on my knees over and over pleading for God's grace and mercy because there were many moments when I acted out in anger and had to apologize again and again for getting so upset. My patience was worn thin and it was just so tough. I was so thankful that today my sweet friend, Sarah, wrote a post encouraging moms just like me who are in the trenches with toddlers. Oh I am so thankful to know that if I continue teaching and training, it will reap harvest one day. One day, the gospel will seep into her heart so deep and she will love the Lord with all of her heart. Until then, I press on, teaching, praying and asking for grace. Not only is He helping her learn to obey, He is digging deep into the corners of my heart and showing me what a sinner that I am. Oh Father, help us to learn together just how amazing your grace is for each one of us.
I pray that this week I will rejoice when I am given moments to teach and train these sweet little ones that Father has entrusted to us.

Another Monday
It seems that I am making a habit of writing blog posts on Monday. I guess writing once a week is a pretty good goal for me. After chasing kids around for 12 hours, I don't have much left in my to write blog posts. But I think I could do it once a week. And besides on Monday nights Clark has guy night so he isn't even here. So, Monday nights it is!
Well, today was an interesting day. It started off like normal, me waking up at about 6 am so that I can shower before Sadie and Jack wake up. Monday is always my catch up day. I usually don't do much "housework" on the weekends so on Monday it is a bit piled up. And I don't mind that. I like truly having a bit of a break for 2 days and focusing completely on family time. So, I put two loads of clothes in, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the bathroom, made beds and straightened the house. By that time it was 8:30 and Jack went down for his morning nap. I came back in the living room and sat down to pick up my Bible and journal and Sadie went straight to the table beside the couch to get her Bible and journal. (Sorry for the repeat if you say this on FB!) This is a habit that I am trying to instill in Sadie. I have only really been working with her for a week. But I truly want her to love spending time with Father and to see her Mother doing the same thing. I read in a book one time (think it was Noel Piper) that said you shouldn't just start doing "quiet times" with your children when they reach the age of 13, this should be something that is instilled in them they are young. And so, we are working on this with her. I love, love, love to hear what she is "reading". Like today for example, she said, "Goliath did not obey his parents, so he died." (Sorry for the repeat from FB again!) Anyway, I laughed inside because I thought, she must hear "Children obey your parents" a whole lot! After Jack got up, I took them to the playground. The weather today was CRAZY! I was in long sleeves and jacket and the kids both had jackets on...in MAY...in the south. Oh my, it was crazy, but I am ever so thankful for the blessing of great weather. We played heard on the playground and I loved hearing the squeals as they went down the slides. After we got home, they both had a great lunch and I thought, man this has been a good day! And then....Jack tripped and fell and I look over to see his mouth full of blood. Oh great...now my heart is racing...what do I do?? I look in his mouth to see he has bit his tongue. Not through, thank the Lord, but all the same, there was blood and I had to make it stop! Finally, I got him to calm down and it stopped bleeding. But he didn't take his whole nap and was just a little fussy the rest of the day. So, all of my plans went out the window and I cared for a little boy who was hurting. And that is the part of being a mommy where it is okay to just drop everything and love on your baby. Thankfully the owners of the house where we live (they live next door) is a retired pediatrician. So, he reassured me that it would heal and Jack would be okay. But every time I look at his tongue, my heart hurts for him. I know there will be many, many more times this will happen, especially with the little climber that I have, but it still makes me sad :(
And so now...the day is almost done, I have two little ones fast asleep (praise the Lord it didn't take long tonight!) and I am enjoying a little down time for the next hour before I hit the bed.
And then....we will start all over again tomorrow! I am so blessed to be a mommy to these two little ones. My prayer is that I will be so in tune with Father that I will overflowed with His Love and His Grace and His Peace as I daily deal with the good, bad and the ugly with these two! :)
And so...that is a running narrative of my day. I hope it was not to boring. Sorry if it was, it's all I have got today.
Until next time....

The Beach
This past week the kids and I went down to Destin FL with my parents for a few days of relaxation on the beach. We had a wonderful time!! I would do it all over again even though I am paying for it now as I try to get the kids back on their normal schedule. Oh my has it been a day, Sadie has had many a melt downs. Anyway, back to the beach....the kids both enjoyed themselves as they played in the sand for the first time. Jack didn't care so much for the ocean water, it was pretty cold. Can't say that I blame him. But Sadie, oh she loved it all! She loved playing in the waves, playing in the sand and then enjoyed the pool with me.
While we were down there, we went to a small little "village" called Baytown. It was so relaxing and so much fun to eat outside. I personally loved it because the kids could be as loud as they wanted! And then we rode a carousel and ate ice cream from waffle cones. All in all, it was perfect except we were missing my sweet hubby! Because he just started his job, he couldn't get off for our little get away. We missed him so much! But thankful he let us go and have fun.

Thanks Mom and Dennis for a wonderful little get away! We had such a great time!
