Some Questions...

I was talking to a friend of mine this morning and sharing with her about my househelper. She said you should blog about that to help people understand more about your life (which I will do in the next post!). But it made me start thinking, I wonder if there are other things that people want to know about your life in Asia. So...I open the floor to you to ask questions! I will post the answers in posts during the next few weeks. It can be about anything that interest you at all...and if I can, I will take pictures too! Be thinking and ask away!

Sadie and Friends...

Today we hd some friends come over and Sadie had the best time playing with them! Here's a few pictures to show you all! :)

And of course Sadie with her friend A. They LOVE riding the green dear who we affectionately call John. :)

Have a great weekend!

For Carolina....

One of my best friend's daughter (she's 2!) requested to see a video with Waura and Cwark in it. So, we decided to do even better than that, we made a little personal video for her!! We love you sweet girl and can't wait to see you in a few years!! :) I just know you and Sadie will be the best of friends :)

Clark's Birthday

I realized today that I never posted any pictures from Clark's birthday! I knew the family would want to see them, so here they are! The first picture is us at KFC for lunch. Clark wanted to go there and have hot wings for lunch, and so we did! I love this picture because Sadie is really eyeing the hot wing...

Here Sadie is with her friend A, they are so sweet together! The girls are really starting to interact more and that has been fun to see. Although you have to keep your eyes on them a lot, they enjoy stealing toys!
We had quite the birthday dinner for Clark. Our sweet friends made Mexican for Clark's dinner. It was great!! We had so much fun!
Here is Clark with the special plate and glass that we each get to use to eat off of when it's our birthday! (Ignore the screaming child in the background... :)
And here is Clark's cake...a local bakery in town makes a black forest cake that Clark LOVES. So it worked out quite nicely for his birthday just to order that instead of me having to make one :) On the Cake it says "Zhu Ni Sheng Ri Kuai Le Wei Lian" For all of those non-Chinese readers that means, Happy Birthday Clark!
And here is the fam on Clark's birthday! And yes, we are only a month late on getting the pictures out to everyone...so sorry.....

The Best Day...

Do you ever just have one of those days that you don't really do anything special, but yet it is such a good day? Well, that would be Saturday for us! Sadie seemed to be especially good and believe me, that always helps! We woke up had French Toast and Sadie went down for a nap, a 2 hour one at that! (And that is a huge accomplishment, trying to get her from a 30 minute nap to a 2 hour nap!) And then we went into town and had lunch at KFC and picked up some pictures that we had framed. They turned out beautiful! And not bad for 10 bucks a piece! We came home, Sadie took a nap and we got one too!! That evening, Clark went to hang out with the guys and have a guy night. I was looking forward to my night at home. I made homemade macaroni and cheese for myself (the first time ever!) and it was amazing! Sadie took a bath and actually liked it and didn't cry when I put her clothes on (once again a huge accomplishment!) I got her down for the night and settled in with a book, a candle lit and Norah Jones in the background. Ah...it was the life! All in all, it was a great day, nothing special, but loved just being able to know that things can go smoothly sometimes!! It helps on the days when you just want to pull your hair out.

Keep you Laughing...

Living in Asia always keeps you laughing. The culture is so different here that sometimes you scratch your head and wonder what in the world?? I thought I would share a few of those scratch your head moments and hope that you can laugh with me!

Sadie has a flair for the dramatics as Clark likes to put it. He tells me that she gets that from me, now who would think that?? *Wink, wink* Well, I sometimes let her cry it out, whether it be when she needs to sleep or when she is in trouble for testing her boundaries. Now, I don't let her do this long but long enough for her to understand when she is in trouble or when it is sleeping, she falls asleep. My neighbors have a hard time with this. Now, granted, I don't blame them, it is hard to sleep when a crying 10 month old wakes up at 2am. The other day as I was leaving the house, my neighbor asks about Sadie. I tell her she has a cold and has been teething and that is why she has been crying. The neighbor proceeds to tell me that I need to take her to the hospital to get an IV and give her Chinese meds. And then to make sure that I pick her up when she cries or she will get a sore throat. Sore throat??? Oh my...definitely scratch your head....

Second, on the bus the other day, a woman told me that Sadie had a beautifully shaped head and that it meant that she would be very clever...while I will take that, still scratching the head....

Third, Clark came home from school with this funny story! (Vanessa, make sure you tell Kris this one!) His teacher decided to play a game with the students. She was going to describe a word in English and they had to write the character on the board and for those students (she meant Clark) who couldn't write the character could draw a picture. So, she proceeds to get on all fours and says "Murr, Murr" Clark looks at her and says, don't you mean "Moo?" She said, yeah "Moo, Moo" And Clark said, " Are you trying to be a cow?" Then he turns around and draws a cow with big udders and milk droplets coming down into a bucket. He got quite a few laughs from his classmates and then, scratched his head.. "Murrr??"

Fun times in Asia I tell you. We have moments like this everyday...and everyday we are thankful that we are here and love laughing about it, hope you laughed with us!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter from our family!! We had a great day today spending time with Father and our friends and enjoying a great lunch and easter egg hunt! I wanted to put a few pics on now and maybe a video later :) We hope you all have a great day!!

Here is Sadie talking with her new friend. She is so funny, she LOVES people! She is always waving at people and trying to get their attention, especially children. She saw this little girl and kept waving and wanted to go over to meet her. It was just too precious!
Going after the Easter eggs, she loves them once she knew there was a surprise in them (Cheerios!)
The sweetest smile ever...it makes me laugh everytime, my girl with only 2 teeth :) But four are on there way in right now!
A little mother/daughter pic!

We hope you guys have a great Easter! :)
