We are still in the works with potty training Sadie. I will admit, I haven't been truly focusing soley on potty training with her. It has been tough, especially when I am feeding Jack and all of the sudden she needs to go! We have had a few times this week when she has went all on her own, I was super proud!! The best was when I had a diaper on her and she sat on her little potty, said she was going pee pee and then used the burp cloth to "wipe" herself. I felt horrible because I should have taken the diaper off! :) Anyway...we are taking it one day at a time, I am not in a huge hurry because she isn't even two yet, but boy is she ready. Here she is above with Annie (her bear) on one potty and she on the other. The tears...well that is because mommy won't let her have the camera! :)
PS. We have been having trouble with Sadie sleeping...again...the past few days she has been waking up at 2 am then one day at 5 am and then yesterday at 3 am. She is crying so hard and so Clark goes back in to put her down and she is just clinging to him so he ends up sleeping in the spare bed with her those last few hours. Any ideas why this might be happening?? We have racked our brain...she is in a dark room, doesn't seem to be cold and her diaper is wet (one morning we are sure that is why she woke up) but every other morning?? And yes, she still goes to be early, 6:30 at night....anyway, would love any advice from you guys....you always help me!! :) Clark is starting to rely on you...he said, what do your friends say about this?? So...I thought, I better ask!!

Laura -
So far I have experienced 2 reasons why my kids will start walking up at that age...
1) night tremors... even though Elizabeth couldn't explain it should would just wake up and be afraid and not want us to leave her alone. It happened on and off for a few months, but then stopped.
2) molars. This has affected Nate way more than the other two - not only is he a crab while those blasted molars slowly grow, he also just doesn't sleep as well at night or naps for that matter.
Not sure if this will help... but I do know that it all passes - and you might never know the reason, but it will pass!
Love to you!
Might she be getting some new teeth? Thomas was a great sleeper, but when his molars came in, we went through something similar. Just a thought! Hope she moves past this stage soon!!
oh, that stinks. Lina has gone through a few stages like that. It doesn't last too long. I would tell Clark, get out of laying down with her! she'll become dependent on that fast. I'm still sleeping with Cass for a few hours most every night. When Lina starts a phase like that, we deal with it a few times, then let her cry it out, it usually only takes one night. (just make sure she is not truly scared of something)
Hey Laura,
I know each day has a whole new set of challenges - especially when there is more than 1 child involved. It seems like when one starts cooperating the other starts "acting out!" Anyway - I agree with Erica - my 1st had night terrors - he would just start crying out in the middle of the night - as long as he was assured that we were still there he was ok after a few minutes. Although sometimes with our 3rd one we have found that he is hungry - usually on days where he was a little picky about eating dinner or maybe he is hitting a growth spurt - he is crying because he is hungry but does not know how to express it - we give him some yogurt to drink and he is fine and goes back to sleep -- just a few thoughts. Hope things are evening out for you.
I was going to say what Erica said. She could be getting her 2 year molars. Or, she could be having bad dreams. Hannah started having them about that age. Their imgaination is getting stronger and more active, and that makes for more active dreams.
It helped a lot when I would go in and pray over her before I went to bed. Of course, we pray WITH her as part of her bedtime routine and we ask God to give her sweet, fun dreams and that has helped a LOT.
