Three years ago, my sweet grandma went to be with Jesus. It was September 19th in America and the 20th, my birthday in China. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Kasey and I were doing some traveling and I was calling home every morning and evening to check on my grandma. She was dying of cancer and I knew it would be any time that she would make her exit from this world. I woke up on the morning of my birthday at 6 am and called home and she had already gone to be with Jesus. What a bittersweet moment that was for me. I was sooo sad that I was 7,000 miles away and couldn't be there with my family. But I had a peace because she wasn't in pain anymore. That evening, we went and met some Chinese friends and God used them to encourage me so much. It was such a neat thing to see how He broke down those language barriers that day.
Well, 3 years later, I am married and now have a little one. She hasn't ever had the chance to meet my dear grandma. But yesterday, we got a package from my aunt. My grandma's youngest child, her only daughter. Inside was a bunny rabbit. It looked just like something my grandma would have bought for Sadie. She LOVED it so much and immediately started to put the ears in her mouth! The neat thing is that when I was growing up my grandma would buy us a bunny each year for Easter. So, even though it isn't Easter, Sadie got her first bunny from grandma today...thanks Angie for such a sweet present....
